Since the first plantings in 1986 on the Thornton Road property and the first vintage in 1990, Amberley Estate has quietly established itself as a producer of characteristic Margaret River wines available at realistic prices.

Although being commercially tempted to vary, the philosophy of the owners is to remain a producer of wines from fruit grown only in the Margaret River Appellation. Backed by the belief that a steady growth pattern utilising produce from arguably one of the best growing areas in Australia will far outweigh the short term gains of outside blending. This is reinforced by the long term contracts being both new and existing growers.

With a goal of making wines that combine the true character of the fruit, the richness of the region and the facilities of a modern winery, Amberley's portfolio has met with consumer recognition leading to an exhaustion of stocks on an annual basis. An assessment of the first nine vintages has pronounced renowned winemaker Eddie Price's capacity to capture all of these positive attributes. Combined with the maturation of the vines they are enthused at the progress made over a short time, and believe the projections for the next 5 years will reflect the standards of quality that have been set.

As a privately owned company, the confidence shown by the investors during this fast growth period has given the staff the support needed to achieve both quality product and presentation expected from a premium producer.
